Sally Stevenson
Sally Stevenson AM is the Executive Director of the Illawarra Women’s Health Centre with a background in community development, public health, and emergency medical humanitarian assistance.
She has worked in several conflict and natural disaster zones around the world, most recently in Gaza in October 2024. Sally was on the team that established the first Aboriginal owned and led credit union, she conceived of and established (with a fantastic team) the indigo foundation. indigo foundation is a grassroots international community development organisation, now in its 25th year.
She is a recent Wollongong Citizen of the Year and became a member of the Order of Australia in 2014 for her international humanitarian and community work. She is a Board member of the Older Women’s Network, NSW. A lifelong believer in the power of community,
Sally is committed to supporting the full implementation of the Uluru Statement from Heart, raising the criminal age of responsibility to 16, supporting artists, and social support through the Federal Government to enable people to live with dignity with payments above the poverty line.
