Wollongong Emergency Family Housing supports and accommodates families and individuals who are homeless or are experiencing a crisis which threatens their current accommodation. Wollongong Homeless

Hub assists people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Indigenous, refugees, new settlements, youth and those who have considerable barriers to obtaining private housing such as women and children fleeing domestic violence, single parent families, those recovering from drug or alcohol addiction, those living with mental health.

A Specialist Homelessness Service covering the Illawarra/Shoalhaven district.

Services:

Crisis Accommodation:

-          For women (with or without children) who are escaping domestic violence, homeless, or at risk of homelessness. Crisis accommodation and support will be provided for a period of up to 6 weeks.
SAHSSI Crisis Accommodation Facilities at: Wollongong Crisis Accommodation (provides for up to 6 women with or without children, including boys up to 17 years)
Warilla Crisis Accommodation (provides for up to 9 women with or without children, this refuge is not wheelchair accessible) Shoalhaven Crisis Accommodation and Outreach Services (provides for up to 6 women and up to 17 children)

Outreach Support:

-          On Location Support and Assistance (for women with or without children) delivers support for clients and referrals to and from partner agencies

Corrective Services:

-          Support to Female Partners of Domestic Violence Offenders (women only).
Support may include referrals to services (counselling, legal specialist, medical professionals, education/schools etc.), safety audits, advocacy (housing providers, Centrelink, job network provider, schools, family support etc.)

Transitional Housing:

-          Semi-Independent Transitional Housing Bedsitters (provided for women and children exiting the Supported Crisis Accommodation and from other Government and non-Government organisations)

24/7 Domestic Violence Crisis Service:

-          Provides 24/7 emergency accommodation and specialist support service to single women who are 18+ and women 17+ with accompanying children (male children included)

-          Offers: emergency accommodation, ongoing support from a trauma informed and specialist SAHSSI case manager, referral and partnership links with specialist services, safety planning and support
